The release said the status underscores Saudi Arabia's role in international and regional cooperation on AI policy, ethics and research.
ICAIRE has since supported research, ethics awareness, policy coordination and capacity building, and Riyadh hosted the UNESCO Global Forum on the Ethics of AI in September 2026.
