The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) published its Generative AI Guidelines for government entities on 10 January 2024 and a companion version for the public on 11 January. The guidelines set principles, risk classifications, data-handling rules and role definitions, including the role of data offices in overseeing the ethical and legal aspects of AI tools used with government data.
They complement existing AI-ethics, data-governance and privacy rules and are non-binding.
