Riyadh-based Abwab.ai raised SR15 million ($4 million) in a seed round led by European venture firm Speedinvest, with Middle East Venture Partners participating; it is Speedinvest's first investment in Saudi Arabia. Abwab.ai sells AI-powered lending infrastructure that lets banks and finance companies automate SME lending from onboarding through to collections.
The company says lenders using its technology have processed more than SR10 billion in SME loans across more than 10 institutions, including Abdul Latif Jameel Finance, Kafalah, Hala and Lendo. Founder and CEO Baraa Koshak said the next stage of SME finance in the Kingdom is giving financial institutions the infrastructure to grow efficiently.
