Aramco and solutions by stc agreed to deploy a next-generation high-performance supercomputer for Aramco's upstream operations, in a contract worth $372.5 million (SAR 1.4 billion). Aramco says the system will deliver seven times the compute capacity of its current upstream computing infrastructure and is planned for delivery in early 2027.
It will be used for seismic data processing and reservoir modeling, to improve exploration efficiency and recovery rates from existing Saudi fields. Abdul Hameed Al-Dughaither, Aramco's executive vice president of EXPEC and drilling, said the project is aimed at unlocking new reserves and optimizing recovery.
