The first LEAP technology conference opened in Riyadh on 1 February 2022 and was reported to have secured $6.4 billion of investments in future technologies. Announcements included Aramco's Prosperity7 Ventures with $1 billion, a $1.1 billion program for the Ignite digital-content initiative, NEOM Tech's XVRS metaverse, a planned spin-off of stc's data center and cable businesses valued at SAR 2.1 billion, and cooperation between Huawei and stc on data centers.
The event featured more than 350 speakers from 80 countries. LEAP was held in February or March from 2022 to 2025 and moved to 31 August-3 September in 2026.
