The Tawakkalna app was launched in May 2020, originally for COVID-19 management, and is built and operated by the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA). It has since grown into one of the Kingdom's main government platforms, consolidating services from ministries such as Interior, Health, Hajj, Transport and Justice under one login. It was reported in July 2025 to serve more than 34 million users. The app is a flagship example of SDAIA's operational role alongside its regulatory one.
