At FII8, the Public Investment Fund (PIF) and Google Cloud announced a partnership to create a global AI hub near Dammam in the Eastern Province, with research on Arabic models and Saudi-specific AI applications and AI programs for millions of students and professionals. The announcement cited a GDP contribution of up to $71 billion over eight years. In May 2025 the partners said the hub, to be launched with HUMAIN, would be a $10 billion joint investment expanding Google's Dammam region, with TPUs and GPUs.
