Royal Decree M/148 of 27 March 2023 amended the Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL). The changes widened the circumstances in which controllers may collect data from third parties and process it for other purposes, and introduced an updated regime for transferring personal data outside the Kingdom. The amendments set the stage for the Implementing Regulations and the entry into force in September 2023.
