# About Cicada

Cicada is a Saudi technology and AI publication with an advisory practice. We report on the Kingdom's AI build-out and help organizations act on it.

## Why “Cicada”

In the desert, the cicada is heard long before it is seen. We aim to do the same for Saudi AI: pick out the signal early and report it clearly.

## Editorial standards

- Every factual claim links to a source. Primary sources first: official announcements, filings and statements.
- Archive stories are dated to when the event happened. They were compiled in 2026 from contemporary sources and fact-checked separately.
- Announced commitments are reported as announcements, not as money spent.
- Consulting never influences coverage. Clients get no say over what we publish.
- We correct errors openly. Corrections are noted at the end of the story.

## How the archive was built

Our research desk compiled the history of AI in Saudi Arabia from public sources. A separate fact-check pass then checked every item against its sources, corrected dates and figures where needed, and removed anything that could not be verified. Each article shows when it was last verified.
